A Brief Conversation
Can you tell us a bit more about South Street & Co.?
Kaitlyn: Yes! South Street & Co. is an award-winning digital marketing agency that helps small to medium businesses grow their reach online. We specialize in service-based businesses who want to reach a local market through their website design, social media, SEO, blogging, email marketing and consulting.
What are some things that you do for team building and culture?
Kaitlyn: Being a remote company, we had to get creative! So each day we have a video scrum meeting to go over what’s happening that day - we also have a weekly video meeting on Fridays. We utilize Slack a lot and have a channel dedicated to virtual brainstorming. This enables us to brainstorm together even when we’re not “together.” We all do happen to live in the same city so once per month, we get together for lunch and go over our clients, what’s new in our lives and catch up.
What are some things that make South Street & Co. unique?
Kaitlyn: I started this company after I helped my former company grow. When I started, they had 10 offices and in the 2.5 years that I was there, I helped them double in size to 20. 17 were in Central Florida and 3 were out of state. Working there, I was on the other side of the table with marketing agencies and companies selling to me. I know how it feels and what it’s like. I took that knowledge into this company and try to educate our customers while showing them what they need to help them grow.
Final question - any recommendations from anything you read recently?
Kaitlyn: I love reading and am always looking for the next best book! I’ve recently read (and listened to) Remote: Office Not Required - we’re also reading this in our book club. Never Lose A Customer Again & Giftology. Some other books I love are “Pour Your Heart Into It”, “If You Don’t Have Big Breasts, Wear Ribbons In Your Hair” and “Quench Your Own Thirst”.
